Response
The reason I chose to respond to Lisa's project presentation made me feel differently is because the contrast between Lisa's presentation and the reality of the game would show a "social darkness" reverie. First of all, I am also a fan of the game and was very interested in this unique style of painting. I found it interesting that this style of painting naturally gives the player a feeling of depression, darkness, etc., but the developer seems to be unconcerned about this and naturally presents this feeling to the audience and the gamers, which is my first point and my feeling after the first viewing of this work. Then I continued to observe and think. The first idea that came to my mind was my previous paintings, because the characters I drew before were from anime, and the content contained gore and darkness, which is why I was interested in Lisa's project and chose to respond to it. I always like to draw various characters with "dark" and "horror" atmosphere, in my opinion, to show the dark side through these characters, and also designed because of the "darkness" in their world at the beginning. The "dark" side of their world caused them to become dark, to expose the darkness that still exists in society. Lisa's work also uses the dark painting style to create the game, before that I was always worried that the work I created would not be accepted by the public, because showing the dark side of society, few people can accept. But the emergence of this work also gave me a lot of courage to continue to take the "artistic path" that I want to take.
Proposal

I am currently a visual design student, but I am very passionate about drawing anime characters. This is probably due to my childhood personality. I started to enjoy watching cartoons when I was a kid, and when I gradually understood the drawing process behind the animation, I became obsessed with drawing various characters in anime. I love to draw all kinds of anime characters, but most of the characters I draw have a "dark" history behind them. Because in my opinion, life is not perfect, there are very few geniuses and winners in life, but most of them are ordinary people like us who work hard on our own.

Just like the project I showed on Monday, the characters in the painting gave a "gory" and "scary" feeling. Because I like punk and dark style, but in the design of these characters background, often they have a different life, I want to give people a sense of contrast. This is my style and what I am best at. So in making my new work, I want to draw a character with dominance but also with tragic experiences, because people in contemporary society have depressed feelings, and I want to draw a character that is a "microcosm" of most people, so that the audience can identify with the work and the character from the senses.

In drawing this new work, I thought about how to integrate it with the main theme of the semester, "Interdisciplinarity". At the beginning of the semester I thought that interdisciplinary was just going from one profession to a new one, like a chef to a courier. But as I learned about the theme I realized that interdisciplinarity is about thinking across boundaries to create something, such as a power station or a cell phone or other project that requires the integration of multiple disciplines to create a new object or discipline. So in order to have some connection to interdisciplinarity, I plan to draw new characters so that the characters also have some connection to society. This is a combination of illustration and sociology, so to speak, to explore the problems of contemporary society, which seems very common, but is often easier for people to understand and accept, so I will try to develop in this direction in my new work in the future.
